Advent (R.E.)

W.A.L.T... In R.E. we are learning about advent. Advent is a special time waiting
for the arrival of Jesus.
I've been doing this to show other people what are those information you can
learn about Advent.
Thinking of thoughts about the topic is easy but the hard part is when you are going to put the information together.
I hope you learned something :) Enjoy!

Show not tell

Show not tell

One night I was woken up by a terrible sound. A thunder  flashed up in the sky. I feel  frightened when I
heard a creepy wind blow coming up on  my window. When I looked away outside, it was a creepy
shadows of the trees that I saw. Suddenly I heard some water drops falling on the ground, it was raining.

Show not tell 2

I took a deep breath and I felt like shaking. My heart beats so fast, I felt crept in. I suddenly feel that my
breathing has changed and I feel like I vomit. I had this feeling every time. I can’t stop thinking about it
when it just happened. I can’t  erase it on my mind. Just one thing I can remind myself, just don’t be
afraid, fight for it.

Show not tell 3

What is happiness? Happiness is everywhere, we can feel it always but sometimes not. Happiness is not
all about being happy, but it is the sign to yourself to smile. In more than 7 billion people in the world,
half of it had happiness and half of it don’t. What can we do to people who is not happy and How can we
make them feel better? In making people happy, is like making yourself happy. You can make people
happy by showing a big heart to them. Showing a big heart is when you help a disabled people, showing
a big heart is loving a people.

______________________________________________________________________________

W.A.L.T Use "show not tell". In show not tell we need to write to imply and read to infer. By doing this
activity I found hard is when I build my sentences up. Question- what do I need to improve next time.

Information Report, Ngatu-Tapa Cloth

Ngatu-Tapa cloths- Information Report

W.A.L.T… In this week we have learned about Ngatu-Tapa Cloths
and more information about it...

What is Ngatu? Where is it used? How can we make it?
What things are used on how to make it?

Ngatu is known as a tapa in many Pacific Countries. It is a cloth made from bark. In making ngatu, it is called koka’anga. Ngatu is very important, especially in Tonga. It is a treasure in Tonga, Mele says that in Tonga Ngatu is a treasure. When we’re born, they said we are wrapped in ngatu. When we die, we are also wrapped in it. Ngatu is used for special occasions like royal ceremonies, birthday, wedding, and funerals.

The Tongan Community in New Zealand also uses ngatu for special occasions. Me’etu’upaki is what we called their traditional Dance in Tonga and they need to wear ngatu. How can we make Ngatu tapa cloths? This is the steps to make ngatu in Tonga, First, women and girls peel the bark from the tree and after that, they hang the bark in the sun to dry after that they soak the dried bark in water to make it soft, Second, they beat the bark with a wooden tool called an ike to make it thinner and wider. They dry the bark in the sun again so, in the school hall, the women and girls cover the table with a material. This will be backing for the ngatu. they line up feta’aki along the table on the top of this backing material. Then they paste the edges of the fete’aki to the backing material. They cover the backing material with paste. They carefully lay the feta’aki over the top of the backing material. Then they press the two pieces together and slowly roll them up. They carry the ngatu outside and roll it out on the concrete so it can dry in the sun. When it is dry, they will point the ngatu with some brown dye, using a piece of feta’aki as a brush. As far as I know, Ngatu is specially made for Queen Elizabeth. For me, Ngatu is an Amazing representative for the culture In Tonga. I never knew that Ngatu Tapa cloths are made up on a mulberry tree.

In conclusion, we also need to respect their language. Some people didn't respect their culture or language. In Tonga, Ngatu is one of the important things they used in their culture. So we need to show respect for their culture  specially for the people.

What I found easy: Is thinking Information about Ngatu
What I found hard: Is to compose or to build up my own sentences
I am sorry because I'm not a good writer:) haha

Persuasive Writing

Should cellphone be banned at school?

This paragraph is about an idea, why can cell phones be banned in school

I agree cell phones can be banned in school because some people are being addicted to social media like facebook, messenger, Instagram, twitter, and others. In the long run of using cell phones, they are late to sleep. Cell Phones can distract us from our school because instead, we are learning new lessons, we are concerned more about cell phone usage.

In a long run using cell phones, we’re not able to focus on our school works. So it’s our choice if we’re gonna do the right time of using our mobile’s and we also need to choose a good way of using it.
In cell phones we can use the calendar to identify what date it is, you can also use the calendar and write some works or what you are going to do on that day. We can use our phones to call our parents and friends when we need to, we can also chat or text them using our phones.

Cell phones may not be prohibited from school, because others have important reasons. Some people are just making a reason even if it’s not important, but most of them have an important reason.

I disagree because sometimes we might have important reasons. An important reason can be their parent will call them anytime but they couldn’t answer it because they are not allowed to use phones.

When we banned cellphones in school, they can be a disadvantage because even though they have mobile phones they can still go to school and try to study. Sometimes when we banned cellphones it is possible to lose their energy in school even though cell phones can be their reason to be happy.

In conclusion, maybe cell phones are allowed in school because we can learn a lot of information from our phones. Cellphones can be allowed in school and just use it in a right time.

W.A.L.T We need to use persuasive writing
What I found easy: Is to think about the information but what I found hard: Is when I'm gonna compose a sentence...
I'm not a good writer but I've tried my best to do it:)
